We urge the Texas Legislature to protect the 1st Amendment rights of those on college campuses in the practice their faith, the formation and governance of their organizations, and in speech. We recognize that vandalism and physical threats to individuals are not protest, and we adamantly oppose riots, encampments, and other activities intended to destroy property or endanger the safety of students and staff.
